How to start

I decided to revisit, reread, and study three books.

One of those is The Courage To Be Disliked, a reading that's changing my worldview.

My favorite quotes:

"... do no think about 'past causes' but rather about present 'goals'."
– Page 10.
"All problems are interpersonal relationship problems."
– Page 53.
"You should start. With no regard to whether others are cooperative or not."
– Page 263.
"The World is simple and life is too."
– Page 264.

A practical application:

I was having trouble sleeping, because of a problem at work. Then, I realized, that the "problem at work" was not a problem at all. Rather, it was my perfect excuse to wake up the next day with my energy low, and therefore postpone a difficult conversation.

Armed with what I was learning from the book, I decided to change my point of view. What if I chose not to be bothered by that situation? I gave myself permission to change my posture. And because I changed, the other person changed. We had an easy conversation, a wonderful one.

Insight: My personality is a lifestyle. A lifestyle is the way I choose to perceive the world. Of course, such perception is subjective. And because it is subjective, I can change it in a snap.

Thanks for reading.

May you change something in a snap.
