How to reclaim your time
Hint: if you're not discerning you're not leading.
"Look at my calendar, I'm already late for these two meetings--" said a senior leader. Like many in their position, back to back meetings are nothing compared to having back to back PLUS multiple meetings booked at the same time.
"Why don't you decline one of those?" I asked.
"Because I can enter this one, turn transcriptions on, and stay in the second one. Later on, I can read the summary to be on the loop."
"Gotcha, and when was the last time you read a meeting summary?"
[Crickets chirping]
Long story short, this senior leader is now declining meetings with a Whack-a-Mole mallet.
You can reclaim your time too. One whack a time.
