Batch once, smile for months

Set it & forget it (but with intention)

Batch once, smile for months

Last year I simplified my newsletter thumbnails, and it made a major difference.

Here's what I designed for this year:

I pre-selected 53 photos from past travels, experiences, and random moments.

My latest photo selection

Now, when I need to publish a post, I just select one of those photos, add some alt text, and voilà!

This not only simplifies my workflow, but also creates an interesting juxtaposition between the images and my writing.

"... when you batch the work you quickly realize it doesn’t take nearly as long as it otherwise might." – Josh Spector

The principle:

Batch once, smile for months

Three ways to apply it next week:

  1. Batch-schedule your mentoring sessions.
  2. Unsubscribe from unused apps in one afternoon.
  3. Set a time and place for nurturing your network (i.e. Follow Up Fridays)

Thanks for reading 🤟

Alberto

PS: My next step will be to batch‑process those alt‑text image descriptions.
